Super Mecha Sonic is achieved when Mecha Sonic you have defeated Mecha Sonic in his normal form and then Mecha Sonic jumps onto the Master Emerald, it is the super form of the Sonic 3 Sub-Boss, Mecha Sonic. Super Mecha Sonic appears in the Knuckles' boss battle in Sky Sanctuary Zone. It requires you to hit Mecha Sonic, when in the normal form, 8 times to defeat this sub-boss.
Unlike Mecha Sonic, Super Mecha Sonic has the ability to fly, the main attack is 3 large energy balls that are fired from Super Mecha Sonic's chest. Each time Super Mecha Sonic does this attack it requires to recharge via the Master Emerald, to transform into Super Mecha Sonic again. When Mecha Sonic returns to it's normal form it defends itself using a spin attack along the ground.
