Sonic Time Twisted is a fan-headed attempt by Overbound to make the best unofficial Sonic game possible, and has been in development since January 2006. Sonic Time Twisted borrows a few elements from Sonic CD, including time travel, to make it one of the more unique Sonic fan games out there, while still being very true to the classic Genesis/Mega Drive games.

Storyline

The storyline will take space through a number of cut scenes through out the game similar in style to Sonic 3&K or the few scattered around in Sonic CD. Not too much detail has been given yet but it can be said that it involves Sonic, Metal Sonic, Eggman, the time stones, and mysterious UFOs.

Gameplay

Sonic Time Twisted is a Game Maker based game, made using Damizean and RougeYoshi's Xmas Gift 360º engine. The gameplay parallels the Genesis games using similar level design which includes a large number of gimmicks for each round. The game also grabs elements from Sonic CD, including time travel in two time zones and the time stones.

Rounds

There are six planned rounds for Sonic Time Twisted, but only one has made it into development thus far.

Dispot Drive: a Green Hill Zone style round with a twist, with the city in the back and lots of grab bars and fan launchers.

Revamp

Sonic Time Twisted has been in development since 2006 since then Time Twisted has been through a total revamp which started in August of 2008 and is due to be shown off at Sage 2009. As such the older levels and demos are no longer relevant to the games current design.
