Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed was announced on April 30, 2012. It is the sequel to Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing and is being directed by Gareth Wilson, former lead designer of Blur, a similar power up-based arcade racing game. The game features several new IP's such as Vectorman and Gilius Thunderhead, as well as a new transforming vehicle system that allows players to traverse land, sea, and sky. The courses themselves also change between each lap.
