Similar in level design and gameplay to Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for Sega Genesis. The game includes levels based on levels from Sonic the Hedgehog 2, though many of them use adapted versions of graphics from the original Sonic the Hedgehog. The music is based on a variety of Sonic games for Sega consoles, including Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and the Sega Saturn version of Sonic Jam. It also included special features such as puzzles and multiplayer options.
