Buzz Bombers (called "Biiton" in the Japanese manual) are found in multiple zones in both Sega Genesis and Sega Game Gear versions of the original Sonic the Hedgehog game. They are airborne enemies that fly until just above Sonic and fire a bullet down diagonally at him. They then fly off rather quickly. It's easiest to defeat them during the pause immediately before they fire.

This badnik was also the inspiration for Buzzer in Sonic 2, and it made an appearance in the bonus Green Hill stage in Sonic Adventure 2.
