Esrael is one of the best hackers that this scene has ever seen. He is well-known for:
- his Delta series of ROM hacks of classic Sonic the Hedgehog games for the Sega Mega Drive / Genesis, most notably Sonic 2 Delta but also Sonic 3 Delta;
- his discovery of lost sprites in Simon Wai’s Sonic 2 beta;
- and his famous level-editing utility, Esrael Sonic Editor.
