The Enerbeam is a weapon used by Team Sonic in the Sonic Boom series.

Conception
When designing the combat for Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric, Big Red Button Entertainment looked at many Sonic games, including the Chaotix spin-off title. In Chaotix there was a ring energy tether mechanic somewhat similar to the Enerbeam. As the game developed it went into a different direction.[1]

Sonic Boom (TV series)
The Enerbeam was used by Miles "Tails" Prower to help Sonic in his battle with Burnbot in the first episode of the Sonic Boom TV series titled "The Sidekick".
