D.A. Garden has been lurking around since 2003 when he was 15 and at his last year of school. He stumbled upon the Sonic scene through SWS2B, while looking for Sonic wallpapers on the internet. He came to realize that he was not the only one who wanted to make their own levels in a Sonic game and that it was actually possible for whole new layouts to be created, among other things.

After the initial release of Sonic the Hedgehog - Westside Island, D.A. Garden decided to turn his attention to asm and working with disassemblies. His first asm project was originally going to be a successor to Sonic the Hedgehog - Westside Island, with the name "Sonic 2 - South Island" and a few level layouts and such were shown to certain members of Sonic Retro, including a redesigned Wing Fortress (Shown here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CerNfYlHmys), but due to a lack of time and ideas, this hack slowly came to a standstill and hasn't been worked on since February 2009.

He also released a Sonic 2 Kaizo demo where Mystic Cave Zone was redesigned to be much harder, mimicking the difficulty of the Kaizo Mario hacks.

D.A. Garden is currently working on a Sonic 1 disassembly. It is unknown whether or not this will turn into a full hack or not, only time will tell. You can find him in #retro on the IRC chat on a regular basis.
