RedHotSonic2 is a hack of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 by redhotsonic. It was the first hack created by redhotsonic.
Information
Started in early 2004, this hack slowly progressed. It featured redhotsonic and his other fan-character JetPackTails. RHS2 had different versions. Version 0.50, .60, .70, .80 and then finally 0.90. RHS2 started off bad (especially with the palettes) but soon become more known throughout it's time.
The Changes
Basically, this wasn't a real technical hack It featured palette changes, diferent level layouts and some new art. It did feature a brnd new object done in hex that hasn't been featured in a hack before. This was called the walk-through-wall monitor. When you hit it, you were given the power to walk through the wall. This only appeared in HPZ.
All the level names had changed, some of them not making sense. For example, [Hidden Palace Zone]] was renamed Crystalize, even though there was no crystals in that level.
Losing Interest
redhotsonic began to lose interest in hacking, especially due to life (new job and etc), so RHS2 never got finished and ended with version 0.90 (can be downloaded from SSRG). redhotsonic then announced to let someone else carry on with it if they so desired. It got a few volunteers and it then got decided to be passed onto jman2050. Evcer sinse then, no more has been heard from this hack.
