Labyrinth Zone was the fourth zone on Sonic the Hedgehog for Game Gear and Sega Master System.

Synopsis

Most of the level is underwater. The graphics are near identical to the Genesis version. Sonic has limited air in most of these levels. When a counter appears above his head, you know it's time to find an air bubble.

Acts

Act One - This is the introductory level to the zone. You begin in the maze area of the labyrinth (no water). Falling on to the slides will send you crashing into the watery depths. Don't run out of air, or Sonic will lose a life. Some platforms will carry Sonic up to higher ledges. Get off them before they hit the ceiling; if you don't, Sonic won't be happy with you. The ending of the level is above land.

Act Two - Not too unlike Act One. Just make it to the end of the level.

Act Three - Note: this description is for the Master System version of the game The battle against Dr. Robotnik. Sonic begins underwater in this level, however he has an unlimited supply of air. When you reach Dr. Robotnik, you will notice to banks on either side of the screen. there are three spaces in which Robotnik can emerge: one on the bttom, and two on the op at left and right sides of the screen. Robotnik appears from one of the gaps. Jump on or under his pod to deal damage, but watch out! If Robotnik emerges from the bottom space, he will shoot bullets at you. But if he appears from either of the top spaces, he will send a missle towards Sonic.

Other

Act Three - Sonic has unlimited air.
