E-1002 Flapper, or simply known as Flapper or Egg Drone, are enemies found in Sonic Heroes. They basically can be considered as airborne Egg Pawns.

Flappers are the one of the most common enemies in the game besides the Egg Pawns themselves. They resemble airplanes and use jet engines to keep it afloat. The easiest way to destroy them is with Thunder Shoot. There are many different kinds of flappers that are equipped with different weapons and come in a variety of colors.

List of Flappers

• Red Flapper: Most basic Flapper. They don't have any weapons and are mainly used as Homing Attack fodder.
• Blue Flapper: Flappers equipped with rapid firing machine guns.
• Green Flapper: Flappers equipped with laser guns.
• Yellow Flapper: Flappers equipped with a search light. If the search light is cross, it will call for Egg Pawns to appear.
• Neon-green Flapper: Flappers that shoot an electrical beam to the ground.
• Pink Flapper: Flappers that drop bombs.
• Purple Flapper: Flappers equipped with protective spikes.
• Armor-plated Flapper: Flappers that can only be destroyed by Power character (Though the can be destroyed by the Fly character if Thunder Shoot is used enough). They can be equipped with any weapon as their colored counterparts or no weapon at all.

Other appearances

Flappers make an appearance in the Dream Gliding event in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games. The point of the game is to shoot down the Flappers while riding a hang glider. They come in red and gold. Red Flappers are worth two points and Gold Flappers are worth five points.
