- 1999 — Simon Wai uploads a Sonic the Hedgehog 2 prototype to Usenet, which would become colloquially known as the "Simon Wai" prototype.
- 2018 — Sonic Adventure Official Soundtrack Vinyl Edition and Sonic Adventure 2 Official Soundtrack Vinyl Edition, two vinyl albums, are released in Europe.
- 2021 — drx and Buckaroo release a prototype of the original Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Mega Drive. This prototype was sought after for over 20 years.
- 2024 — The second wave of sets in the Lego Sonic the Hedgehog range is released, featuring new characters such as Shadow, Knuckles and Rouge.
