City Escape

Template:SA2Level City Escape is the first stage in the Hero storyline of Sonic Adventure 2 and the first stage playable by Sonic.

Purpose

It chronicles Sonic running from G.U.N., an elite group of the military sent to track down Sonic. City Escape begins with Sonic "road surfing" down the streets of a city and ends with running from a giant truck trying to squash him. It represents Sonic's run through the city to escape the GUN military pursuit.

Appearance

The design of this level is based on parts of San Francisco, where Sonic Team USA is located. One of the posters in City Escape reads, "SA2 is habit forming/Don't turn off your DC/Anti-XXXX XX2 Association". XXXX XX2 most likely represents, "Sony PS2". (In the GameCube version, the posters simply read "DON'T TURN OFF", but with a cube logo above it.) And some of the benches say "EMERALD NOTWORK" instead of "Emerald network."

Big the Cat Location

When running from the G.U.N. truck, Big can be seen along the right side of the track. He gets squished by the truck.
