'''Beat''' is a fictional character in the Jet Set Radio universe.
 
 
 
Beat is the lead character of Sega's Jet Grind Radio series, and he also appear Sega Super Star Tennis. He's a seventeen-year-old "Rudie" whom ran away from home - Fukowoka - to Shibuya to join a street gang, but was shunned away by many other gangs. So he decides to start his own gang known as, The GGs.
 
 
 
He started looking for gang members, the first two to join him were Gum and Tab. After creating the gang, several members joined him because of his success on the city of Shibuya.
 
 
 
Beat is mostly a new character from the Dreamcast age, his first appareance was in 2000 in the title [[Jet Set Radio]], where he and his gang dominated the whole Shibuya and part of New York using spray cans. This game spawned a Sequel/Remake in the Microsoft Xbox console called '''Jet Set Radio Future'''
 
 
 
==About the Original game==
 
Jet Set Radio (Called Jet Grind Radio in USA) was one of the first games that used the Cel Shaded Graphic Style. It had a huge marketing campaign with events about Graffiti, but aside from the hype and praise, the game didn't do so well in stores.

In Jet Set Radio, Beat's wears a orange t-shirt with Japanese letters designed on it. He also has green sun-glasses with red zig-zag lines on them, and wears black pants, finger-less gloves and has headphones on his head.

In Jet Set Radio Future, Beat went through a redesign for the second installment. His design in the game is pretty similar; Beat's design is he has a green t-shirt with Japanese letters designed on it - could be the same letters that was on Beat's original design - and the sleeves on the shirt is black. He also wears black gloves - not fingerless this time, and black paints with two green lines designed on it and headphone on his head.

He has the ability to use Aggresive Inline Skating to grind rails and brake, he is a nice Graffity artist and he is fast when using his Rollers. He's also a good tennis player and with his age, he's driving a tunned car.

Most of his friends are from his gang, the Shibuya GG:
 
*Gum is the first member who joined him. She is a girl in green clothes.
 
*Tab, A graffiti-master of Shibuya-cho, he doesnt like cops.
 
*DJ Professor K is the DJ for Jet Set Radio, Tokyo-To's premier pirate radio station.
 
*Garam, a guy looking for challenges and tricks in the Sewers of Kogane.
 
*Mew, a girl that used to spray things in the night when no one was on the streets.
 
*Pirahna, a semi-ganguro girl, with rastafari hair.
 
*Yo-Yo, He decides to join the GG's to fight against the oppresive government and the Rokkaku Police.
 
*Combo and Cube, They joined looking for help while trying to locate their friend Coin who recently dissapeared from Grind City.
 
 
 
==Enemies==
 
 
 
His main enemiers were the ever-present Officer Onishima: a roughneck cop with a gigantic pistol, and Goji Rokkaku, lider of the Devil Rhino Mafia.

*Beat has also appeared in Sega Super All Stars games aside with Gun
 
*His name and his friends names mostly references music.
 
*He never talks in videogames aside some noises (Falling, getting hurt, and victory shouts).
