Wing Fortress Zone is the tenth zone found in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. It is worth noting that this level features the only 2 cutscenes in the game, with Tails' Tornado being shot down by Dr. Robotnik's laser as Sonic hops on to the flying ship, and Sonic running to catch Robotnik as he flees to the Death Egg when Tails emerges in the Tornado, fully repaired and sporting a new rocket booster. The booster became a permanent addition to the plane. Certain sprites, such as the ones of Sonic floating and rotating, are only used here by the jets underneath the ship.
