<forumuser name="Nova" /> Nova is an English member of a handful of Sonic-related communities who many people remain indifferent towards. He is currently an active member and poster on both X-CulT and Sonic Retro, as well as a former regular on Sonic Spin. While possessing no technical ability and relatively little research history, he is quite content to join in on most discussions and debates in the off-topic sections of said forums.

History

Nova's first foray into the Sonic scene was in 2001, in a somewhat unknown venture; producing sprite comics for his Fireball20xl-wannabe site, Omegacomics, under the name Omega. He particularly focused on Sonic-related characters and settings. His first character was not actually an anthro, rather an anime-esque human with brown spiky hair. After looking into his favourite Fireball20xl artist, Elmatto, he discovered deviantART.

Joining deviantART in October 2003 under the name Omegacomics, Nova began to upload fanart of Sonic The Hedgehog characters and redesigned his fancharacter to be more in keeping with a Sonic style. After striking up several long-lasting friendships, through Stiv he eventually joined Sonic CulT in December 2003. At one point, he left deviantART but rejoined in 2007 as NovaUK.

Sonic CulT

Joining Sonic CulT in late 2003, Nova found that he didn't really fit with the whole ethos of the CulT and was quickly banned. He rejoined in 2005 as Gutrot and was generally liked, before he started to get too cocky and was banned a second time in 2006. During the time he was known as Gutrot, he joined Sonic Spin.

Sonic Spin

Sonic Spin was Nova's first real 'home' within the Sonic community after joining in December 2005. Instantly fitting in and striking up friendships with the majority of the regulars there, he became well-known quickly and was accepted as one of the core members of the site. After David shut down the site in 2006 without an explanation, he rejoined Sonic CulT as Nova where he remains this day, generally well-liked but still not really of any significance.

Sonic Spin came back up in early 2008, under the ownership of former administrator Jen and her then-fiancé Orengefox and Nova returned to the forum and posted every now-and-then before the forum finally closed in late 2008.

Sonic Retro

Due to the closure of Sonic Spin, Nova migrated to Sonic Retro in late 2008 where he is still a regular poster on the forums. Mainly sticking to the off-topic section of the forums, his indifference to Sonic as a franchise keeps him from spending too long in any Sonic-related boards or threads.

Re-emergence

Nova has recently become far more active within the community as a whole lately. He joins in a lot more Sonic-related discussions and has picked up any slack from his deviantART account and now posts new art quite frequently. He has also taken over the reigns of the official Sonic Retro deviantART group.

Today

Nova spends most of his time in the CulT and Retro IRC channels discussing just about anything. He is generally in good stead on all of the forums he frequents. He became CulT Family in late 2008 and is a channel operator on #cult.
Nova attended the Summer of Sonic fan-summit for all three years it's been running (2008-2010) and the Sonic Retro Britfag Meet-Up 2010 and will most likely be attending any future UK-based events.
