Ashura2k

Ashura2k entered the Sonic community May 25, 2001, marking his first post on the Sonic 2 Beta Message Boards (on SSRG).

He was a member of the SET ARK group and eventually made moderator of Sonic 2 Beta. Upon which, he contributed to the mailbag section (spawning the coinage of "I wod lick a Sonic 2 ROMS"), and ran Sonic 2 Beta Radio. He stayed with the Sonic 2 Beta staff through it's move to Sonic Classic. In 2003, controversy marred Ashura2k's reputation when he was caught leading a movement to overthrow most of the staff of Sonic Classic (whom at the time, he saw as incompetent and unjust). Other than that, Ashura2k is generally an easy going, spontaneous dude who is generally well received by fellow members of the community. Sometime in 2004 he started a popular segment called "Ask Grandpappy Ashura" where he would take seemingly heartfelt questions from submitters and address them as humorously and nonsensically as he could. He continued on with Sonic Classic through its various moves and evolution into Sonic Retro. In early December 2006, Scarred Sun stepped down as head administrator of the forums, the community shifted to UltraVR's server and was reborn as Pixel Tanker with Ashura2k as an elected administrator.

In real life Ashura2k's name is Rees. He likes music and drives a fucking sweet dodge caravan. He loves Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Wonder Showzen, and Upright Citizens Brigade. He has been accused of being a communist and proudly owns a pair of Heelys. Ashura is a huge Devo fan and keeps an energy dome in his car at all times.
