Special Stages in Sonic the Hedgehog Pocket Adventure are a port of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 special stages.
Sonic runs in a halfpipe collecting rings during a period. If the player collects enough rings during that period, the game will show a message saying "Cool" and will ask him/her to collect more rings , otherwise Sonic will stop and a meesage will appear saying "Not Enough Rings" and the stage will be over.
If the player manages to get through the stage, he/she will be granted with a Chaos Emerald.
