Sonic the Hedgehog Information Treasury, or Sonic Retro, is a free content encyclopedia written collaboratively by contributors from around the world. It attempts to form a complete knowledge base for everything to do with Sonic the Hedgehog. The site is a wiki, which means that anyone can edit articles, simply by clicking on the edit this page link.
Scener LocalH brought about the idea for a Sonic Database. The end result was a MediaWiki chosen by Alexbt called SSonicNET Database. Since then the name was changed to "Sonic the Hedgehog Information Treasury" as part of Sonic Classic board revitalization project Project Sonic Retro.
Sonic Retro was founded on September 14, 2004, as part of a cooperative agreement between Area 51, Sonic Classic and SSonicNET.
