Mimic the Octopus is a recurring villain in the Sonic IDW comics series. He is a mimetic octopus that can copy the physical appearance of anybody.

History :

Firt seen in the Tangle and Whisper miniseries, it is said in this one that he used to be part of a team called "Diamond cutters" along Whisper but he once betrayed the team by temporarly joining forces with Eggman in order to elliminate the Diamond cuters. Whisper was the only survivor. In the Tangle and Whisper miniseries, he fought against Tangle and Whisper after the fight he got imprisoned by the two protagonists. Later, he joined forces with Dr.Starline, Zavok, Rough and Tumble in the Bad guys miniseries.

Personality: According to Whisper, Mimic is a cold hearted and manipulative man who is even willing to kill to achieve his goals. He too seems to have a big grudge against Whisper who survived his plan on taking down the Diamond cutters by making an alliance with Eggman.
