Masato Nakamura, the frontman of the J-Pop band Dreams Come True, composed the music for Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2. His music is seen among Sonic fans as being some of the best ever made for a Sonic Game with countless remixes on various sites. It has even spawned the Sonic 2 Remix Project.
SEGA however dropped Dreams Come True for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 due to financial disagreements, and hired a selection of other composers to make the music. For Sonic the Hedgehog CD and most of the other Sonic games, SEGA used composers at their Music Studio called Wave Master.
