Sonic the Hedgehog: Project Mettrix is a fan game created by Stealth for DOS and Windows platforms. The engine is written in the C programming language, and is a good approximation of the original Sonic engine.
Project Mettrix includes a level editor and other tools. Well-written documentation is included.
