A version of Microsoft Windows intended for portable, embedded computing devices such as Pocket PCs, where a full computing environment doesn't fully exist. Windows CE is typically burned into the ROM of the device to make it a permanent part of the device, thus the name "embedded" in cases such as the [[Sega Dreamcast]]. Not a particularly powerful operating system, but then again it isn't meant to be.
