Supposedly, there are two advanced models. The first is E-15 Spiky Spinner, which supposedly has an armour with spikes and that appears (at least) in the last parts of [[Speed Highway]] and [[Sky Deck]] as said so in the official guides, though in-game, there seems to be no difference in design whatsoever. The (Thunder) Spana (スパナ), also known as their model number E-16 Electro Spinner, is a badnik that appears in Sonic Adventure and part of the E-Series.

It's an upgrade of the Spina with an intermitent electric discharge field.
