Weapons Bed is the seventh stage in the Dark storyline of Sonic Adventure 2 and the fourth playable with Eggman. It represents Eggman's attempt to sneak in and crush GUN's defences and to distract GUN, allowing Shadow to infiltrate the weaponry area and Rouge to break into Security Hall.
Contents
Plot
Eggman, Shadow and Rouge are on the forests of Prison Island, drafting the end of their plain. Eggman complains for being back on the island and bickers with Rouge, asking her if she’s really sure that the Chaos Emeralds are indeed in the GUN base. Rouge sasses back telling him he can believe whatever he wants and Eggman seems to drop the matter. Eggman then tells them the plan, he will rush in and distract the military troops, Shadow will break into the armoury and plant a time bomb so they can blow the island and cover their tracks, and finally Rouge will infiltrate the GUN base and steal three Chaos Emeralds.
At the end of the level, Eggman will face off with Tails in this same setting.
Level layout
Appearance
Weapons Bed is harbour themed, with the ocean setting the bottomless pit, large iron platforms where vessels await, seagulls flying past and giant fuel tanks and towers.
The major gimmick of this level is the three large vessels that divide the level. They don’t do anything, but it’s where the major actions happen.
Other level specific objects include fuel tanks, metal dividers, security cameras, airplanes, small ramps that move (and then won’t), dish plates and green GUN containers that can be destroyed, and a sign above the road: CAUTION: SPEED LIMITS STRICTLY ENFORCED CARGO AREA.
Walkthrough
Eggman will start at the southern edge of a vessel, with a stack of inactive Gun Hunters at his front. Past these, there will be three more stacks of Gun Hunters, garages to the left where the Large Cannon upgrade is and by the end of the vessel, there’s a platform where the first Point Marker is.
After this, there will be a square platform and then four rectangular platforms in a row, with a spring to lead to a second square platform and a rectangular platform, which end has an upreel to the second vessel. Beyond the vessel there are two square platforms in a row, and in the second there’s the second Point Marker.
In this platform there’ a side platform to the left and three rectangular platforms to the front and from here, three rectangular platforms which ends with a row of springs to a square platform, that leads to three rectangular platforms in a row, with the third Point Marker at the end.
Past this, there’s an upreel to the third vessel, where the ancient ruin is, inside a garage at the north edge of the vessel. Beyond there’s a square platform, four rectangular ones and at the end there’s a square platform with the Goal.
Other versions
Weapons Bed shares its theme level objects with Sonic’s Metal Harbor, which makes sense since they are both set in GUN’s base harbour area. It's also here that Eggman and Tails face off for the first time.

- The Weapons Bed theme is rumoured to have been remixed into the Iron Jungle theme from Shadow the Hedgehog. Some parts do sound alike, but it is currently unknown whether they are the same.
