It's good to have documentation on file types, but probably not on Sonic Retro. There's a case for documenting Sega-specific technology on Sega Retro, but otherwise it's probably out of the scope of our wikis. I would certainly be wary of making separate pages for every file format you're likely to come across -Black Squirrel (talk) 12:17, 3 February 2019 (EST)

I removed the pages added today. A one-line description saying ".DDS file is an Image format. It creates photos." is a bad description of a file format. (DDS is a general texture format, generally used for DirectX-based games, but can be used for anything.)
If you want to document file formats, I suggest creating a centralized "File Formats" page to hold general descriptions of the formats. If you have an in-depth description describing the various fields and encodings of the actual file, that can be placed on a separate page.
Finally, do note that some file extensions may be too generic. For example, while ".scr" is used for scripting files in Sonic Heroes, it's also used for screensavers on Microsoft Windows. ".dat" and ".bin" are generic file extensions used by lots of programs for any arbitrary data. Documenting a game-specific file format as if it's the *only* possible ".dat" or ".bin" is misleading and confusing. ---GerbilSoft (talk) 14:03, 13 February 2019 (EST)

Page Vandalism

You appear to have vandalized the following pages:

You need to explain why you did this or else you will be blocked from editing the wiki. ---GerbilSoft (talk) 14:15, 13 February 2019 (EST)

Well, it looks like you vandalized SCHG:Sonic Heroes/EXE Editing again, changing random things to Team Rose and adding garbage memory addresses. (0x69666969 and 0x74135679 are not valid.) You're blocked for 1 week, and if you do not reply to this talk page, that may be extended to an indefinite block. ---GerbilSoft (talk) 16:36, 14 February 2019 (EST)
