Manuals

It would probably be better to upload scans in JPEG format, to save space and bandwidth. - Hivebrain 20:43, 9 June 2009 (CDT)

You mean the SA scans? I will then. http://info.sonicretro.org/Image:Sa_dc_eu_manual_02_03.png Please delete this one then.

Flickies

You're adding flicky info for Sonic 3D in a table at the bottom of the page. A better place for it would be the LevelBob at the top of each page. I took the liberty of adding it and fixing what you put up now. Just put your data as so:

| flickies1=Blue: x + x; Green: y + y ...
| flickies2=likewise

before the | osv= entry. - Andlabs 13:25, 17 June 2009 (CDT)

Dreamcast Images

Hey--I have access to Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure International, Sonic Shuffle and Sonic Adventure 2; if you want me to take pictures of something in the future, just drop me a line and I'll be more than happy to make a rip. - Scarred Sun 13:40, 24 June 2009 (CDT)

Sonic 3D: Flickies' Island (Saturn) EU Manual

Hello. =P I see you did the scans for Sonic 3D: Flickies' Island (Saturn) EU Manual - there are a ton of missing images here, do you still have the original scans or the ability to remake them? If you do, we can remove a massive 41 images from the list of missing ones! Overlord 16:54, 9 October 2009 (UTC)

You seem to be uploading the Sonic Jam manual by mistake. - Hivebrain 00:34, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
I only noticed that I had did so when I was out of pages. I must always end up screwing before I get it right. :\ I'm fixing it now.

Metal Harbor

I sort of find your edits to Metal Harbor unhelpful...mostly, the links to the Sonic Adventure 2 objects page which doesn't exist. Unless you plan on making such a page. Also, I'm not crazy about the "as the name suggests" at the beginning of the article. It's not really necessary and doesn't help the reader's understanding of the level (because they just have to read further to learn what the page is about, and that bit doesn't add any information about the level itself). What do you think? --PicklePower 02:34, 28 October 2009 (UTC)

  • Oh, I opened up a thread in the forums speaking about my intent of doing the complete Sonic Adventure 2 articles and I warned that since I'm a newbie at wiki code, I was probably going to edit things until the very end. I've done 3/4 of the level info and some aditional pages yet since my dreamcast wasn't booting up discs anymore, i wasn't able to finish them. I had some aditional info on my old computer but since it farted (such nice timing) I had to go around and redo all of the level informations once again when the DC was fixed, because the info on the PC told me which levels I had already went through in Hard Mode for animals, containers, big and whatnot. Finally I'm halfway through it so I'm re-editing stuff just for standard article purposes, because in the end it's all going to be linked properly (a new page for Sonic Adventure 2 objects. I know it's not helpful and it's a big mess, but it's all part of a bigger project, and since no one was touching them at the time, and people didn't really mind in the thread, I was continuing it right now as I was doing back then, chaotically I know, but I don't know how to do it any better.
  • The "as the name suggests" I added because it made "some" sort of sense since it was redundant having harbor and harbour themed in the same phrase. I'm not very at english though, so if corrections need to be made, then go right ahead. I apreciate it. Once there was a guy that didn't mind fool-proofing the articles but he hasn't been doing them anymore. I think.
  • Just so you see how much suck I am at wiki code, I don't even know how to tag my posts. :|

Not a problem...I'm curious to see how it ends up. Looks like you're serious about it. Thanks, and good luck!  :) --PicklePower 03:29, 28 October 2009 (UTC)

Issues

Did you get that cleared to create pages for Issues of magazines? There is actually a magazine wiki on retromags if you want to make pages for magazines. The most I would reccomend for you is to create a magazine article by publication category. Don't make a page dedicated to an issue of a magazine. It's not needed for a Sonic wiki I think.--MUser 21:32, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

  • Sorry, just saw this now. I didn't even knew about retromags, I took this from emuparadise. I hope they don't get angry. Is it okay to make some kind of issue compilation in the Magazine Article scan section? I've edited out just one issue as a sample:

http://info.sonicretro.org/index.php?title=Category:Sega_Visions_Scans&action=submit Or just completely disregard any compilation of pages? There was stuff missing and since the scan names are a mess already, I thought it was the best to make a page for issue but maybe you're right and it's not needed. It just looks like a mess otherwise. If not, then delete everything and the files just remain unsorted. If you could, delete these Archie comics files. They're not needed. I thought it was just a couple of stories and it wouldn't be wrong, but there are more than two. http://info.sonicretro.org/File:SEGA_Visions_issue_8_pag_21.jpg http://info.sonicretro.org/File:SEGA_Visions_issue_8_pag_22.jpg http://info.sonicretro.org/File:SEGA_Visions_issue_8_pag_23.jpg http://info.sonicretro.org/File:Sega_Visions_issue_12_pag_80.jpg http://info.sonicretro.org/File:Sega_Visions_issue_12_pag_81.jpg http://info.sonicretro.org/File:Sega_Visions_issue_12_pag_82.jpg http://info.sonicretro.org/File:Sega_Visions_issue_12_pag_83.jpg http://info.sonicretro.org/File:Sega_Visions_issue_11_pag_86.jpg http://info.sonicretro.org/File:Sega_Visions_issue_11_pag_87.jpg http://info.sonicretro.org/File:Sega_Visions_issue_11_pag_88.jpg http://info.sonicretro.org/File:Sega_Visions_issue_11_pag_89.jpg Orange

Heroes Guide knowledge??

Heroes MMGhosts.PNG

Has your guide anything to say about the official name of these dubious spooks? Frozen Nitrogen 17:41, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

"You will see two pumpkin ghosts appear." As they are not with capitals, I suppose they are not named besides that.

I direct your attention, good sir, to Talk:E-Series Robots. Basicly, does the Rook exist, and what is it if so? Frozen Nitrogen (Talk) 18:59, 28 February 2010 (UTC)

Shadowpix

Not to be an ungrateful bastard about what you've already done...
but if you're on a Shadow screen-capping roll, boss pics would not go amiss. <3 Frozen Nitrogen (Talk) 15:34, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

Man, noone ever cuts us any slack! Sure, why not. I have time to waste today. 0r4ng3 15:43, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
Hahaha, give an inch, take a mile ;)
Much obliged, bro. I've just wanted to make a Diablon page for months but lack of a screencap always stopped me. :P Frozen Nitrogen (Talk) 15:46, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

I forgot Devil Doom, but I'm working on it.
By the way, do you want different screenshots for each final stage of these bosses? I didn't do the same as Egg Bull or the rest because those work differently while the final bosses don't, from what I remember. I don't know Shadow's game much though, so this might be wrong and also, some screenshots might be inappropriate and not conveying the point well. Drop a line in either case. 0r4ng3 16:44, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
iirc the final bosses are pretty much identical irrespective of where you fight them, so I don't think we need individual pix for them by any means; what we have now will do nicely. Much appreciated 0r4ng3. Frozen Nitrogen (Talk) 16:59, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
Better for me then. :P Uploaded Devil Doom as well.

Artwork

I've found a lot of high res artwork in some old DVDs, which are bigger than some of the ones listed here. Close to all of those listed here came from the Sonic Official Art Archive, which I assume is pretty reliable and somewhat Sega related? Some of those that I have are also in jpg format, but they don't seem to lose quality, and they're still bigger. So can I upload all of these, or should they stay with with the quality of the Official Art Archive? (Since you seem to be the biggest uploader of those, I ask you).

Example: original file, from the Official Art Archive and file I have. This was originally a png file, so there the jpg I mentioned doesn't apply.

0r4ng3 21:23, 14 September 2010 (CDT)

It really depends on each individual image, because they came from a variety of sources including original PSDs and low-quality JPEGs. Some larger images have been deliberately shrunk down for space/memory reasons. Are the DVDs presskits or just ones you compiled yourself? - Hivebrain 12:15, 16 September 2010 (CDT)
Ones I compiled myself. It's mostly old stuff before the Press Vault started to be common usage. Those with the image tag saying they're from there, I don't bother with it, because I know that's the highest quality available. It's mostly images which don't have this source. Maybe I should make a list with resolutions/size, before uploading?

Wii Screenshots

I noticed that some of the new Wii screenshots you uploaded, e.g. File:Satbk_titlescreen.png, are using an incorrect resolution. For instance, the SatBK title screen image you uploaded is 1276x716 (close to 1280x720). The Wii's maximum resolution is either 848x480 or 852x480 in 16:9, and 640x480 in 4:3.

If possible, can you reupload these screenshots with the correct resolution? ---GerbilSoft 13:16, 21 September 2010 (CDT)

Ah damn, didn't notice. Yeah I can. Don't worry about it. My mistake.
I just looked it up, and it seems the Wii uses 852x480 in widescreen. Also, I noticed you replaced the title screen image with a 1280x720 image. Wii doesn't support 1280x720; its maximum resolution is 852x480. ---GerbilSoft 13:26, 21 September 2010 (CDT)
Yeah, it's Dolphin. It doesn't do anything but standard resolutions. There's an option for native resolution, but it displays 640x480, widescreen or not. I've tried around 10 releases, all of them the same. Should I leave the screenshots alone then? 0r4ng3 13:53, 21 September 2010 (CDT)
