At some point the "Sand Shower Zone" name is going to annoy me too much. There is nothing that connects that mock-up with that text. In fact, there is nothing to connect that text to at all. This is the "that other wiki is wrong" bit.

Propose that all this noise is merged with Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (16-bit) scrapped levels. And while we're at it, we stop pretending we know what that empty level slot is.

Have we all forgotten the time Yasuhara confirmed the desert level was called Dust Hill. It was a single question asked, it was given a definitive answer. Yet somehow, a decade later, we're all confused again?
For everything that we do know about Sonic's 2 development, we still don't know every moment. Every small decision. Was Dust Hill once called "Sand Shower Zone?" Maybe. Did this small list of levels come before or after Yasuhara's conceptual time travel plans? I don't know. Heck, did the name Dust Hill move over to Mystic Cave before they came up with something better? Maybe, maybe not. But there's one thing we know. Yasuhara, in 2008, pointed to the mocked up screenshot of the desert level and identified it as "Dust Hill Zone." He did not correct anyone and say it was "Sand Shower." If that was the name at any point, it ceased being called that long enough for Yasuhara to not refer to it as such. David The Lurker (talk) 17:27, 12 November 2019 (EST)
