After reading those two "more plausible theories" for the use of those short tracks, I noticed that the most simple theory "They were just very early placeholders that were used in every level until the full tracks were composed" is missing. Shouldn't it belong to that list as well? I mean, it's the one that makes the most sense without requiring a mind-bending series of technical what-ifs.

Been looking at [http://www.sonic-cult.org/imagebin/scdTAKEN.GIF this image on CulT] to try to figure out what those two sprites really are supposed to be. Just more stumped than I was before. There also seem to be ones on there not described on our page? -- [[User:Scarred Sun|Scarred Sun]] 08:44, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

If I remember correctly there were a couple of sprites on Sonic Retro that were labeled incorrectly before the images were lost. The only one we're missing ''I think'' is that frame where it looks as if Sonic is doing a drop-kick (which someone might have labeled as "hanging"). I think the frames where Sonic is standing, looking towards the screen and shaking his finger are used if you leave the game running for a few minutes without touching it, so Sonic CulT wasn't completely right. -[[User:Black Squirrel|Black Squirrel]] 18:11, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

Sonic hanging/Sonic grabbing sprites
