After distracting GUN’s troops so Rouge and Shadow can successfully infiltrate the facility, Amy appears out of nowhere to glomp Shadow mistaking him for Sonic]. Eggman isn’t very fond of someone interfering with his plans, so he chases her away, while the other two head inside. On his way to the island, Tails sees Amy being harassed by Eggman, so he steps in to challenge the doctor and protect her.

The setting is the same as Weapons Bed, atop a vessel. The boss arena consists in a wide and square plain stretch on top of a vessel. There are some dash panels that provide some quickness in movement.

Both Eggman and Tails have three similar attacks but the order they use them is random. Their first attack is using the Volkan Cannon which fires single shots, the second is the Homing Missile, which fires an energy blast, and the third is a close-ranged attack, the Boxing Glove for Eggman and the Propeller Punch for Tails.

ARK

Maximum rings: 0
Fought by: Tails, Eggman

After Sonic is snet off the ARK to his death, Tails is left with the mission he gave him. He must protect the last Chaos Emerald from Eggman.

The boss arena is a circular room with an explosive capsule in the centre, which can harm either character if they’re too near of it when it explodes, which can be done by using the Lock-on attack on it.

Both Eggman and Tails retain the same attacks from their first clash, but with an added Rocket Launcher attack (a group of homing missiles) and a Power Laser attack, a wide light attack that shaves half the health off in the worst case scenario.

2P

The 2P mode in Sonic Adventure 2 for shooting is essentially the same as the boss battles for Tails and Eggman in the Story mode. Besides them, it’s possible to play as Chao or Big respectively, both in walkers as well. The way to win is determined by the best of two rounds.

The attacks at each characters’ disposal are the same from normal playthrough plus the Rocket Launcher, the Laser Missile (a group of homing Lock-on energy attacks) and Power Laser. These attacks can be triggered every twenty rings collected.

In every stage there are some balloons scattered around, containing rings, shields or speed shoes. These respawn shortly after being popped up.

Desert

Game: [[Sonic Adventure 2]][[Category:Sonic Adventure 2 bosses]]
Maximum rings: 87 (+2 balloons)

The setting is the same as Sand Ocean (complete with a night time). The arena consists in a rotating platform and three other rectangular platforms. The one to the north contains no rings, but it has a balloon. The ones to the east and west contain rings and ring boxes, along with an upreel that accesses the balloon above the rotating platform. It’s very easy to win by pushing the opponent to the sand.

Prison Island

Maximum rings: 82 (+2 balloons)

The setting is the same as the story mode equivalent, but much more cluttered. There are several springs and dash panels that help movement, some walls that provide protection and it’s possible to access the garage’s rooftop to the north.

Golden Bridge

Maximum rings: 0 (+3 balloons)

The setting is the same as Mission Street's highway section (complete with the night time). The arena consists in a long stretch of street with two bottomless pits at each edge and four elongated springs that provide some height leverage.
