Super Mecha Sonic is achieved when you have defeated Mecha Sonic in his normal form and then Mecha Sonic jumps onto the Master Emerald, it is the super form of the Sonic & Knuckles Boss, Mecha Sonic. Super Mecha Sonic appears in the Knuckles' boss battle in Sky Sanctuary Zone. It requires you to hit Mecha Sonic, when in the normal form, 8 times to defeat this boss.
Unlike Mecha Sonic, Super Mecha Sonic has the ability to fly, the main attack is 3 large energy balls that are fired from Super Mecha Sonic's chest. Super Mecha Sonic can also do a Spin attack while in the air which is directed at Knuckles. Each time Super Mecha Sonic does this attack it requires to recharge via the Master Emerald, to transform into Super Mecha Sonic again. When Mecha Sonic returns to it's normal form it defends itself using a spin attack along the ground.
