Miles "Tails" Prower, the fox, can't sit still when Sonic's around. Ever since Miles was a baby fox, he's dreamed of being like Sonic. He loves to run after Sonic, waving his two tails behind him, trying to keep up with his hero!

Mostly, Sonic lets him trail along. But sometimes, just to show off, Sonic explodes in a burst of super speed and leaves him behind. But Miles doesn't give up. He whirls his tails like a helicopter rotor and takes off flying until he catches up!

All the animals call Miles by his nickname, "Tails", because of his two special tails. And one day they saw an astonishing feat...

They were all together in the forest, watching Sonic perform. Sonic would run, spin and jump in his Super Spin Attack. Then "Tails" would whirl like a turbo engine and blast off in his Super Dash Attack. What a showoff!

Suddenly, "Tails" just couldn't help himself. He took a running start, curled up his tails, and - whoosh - he was spinning like Sonic!

But now something frightening is happening. Sonic's friends are disappearing. In their place, nasty metal robots are popping up all over the island. The mad scientist Dr. Robotnik is at it again!

This time, Robotnik's planning a global disaster. He needs workers to create a doomsday machine that can take over the world. So he's trapping all the animals, turning them into robots, and forcing them to build his ultimate weapon, the Death Egg!

Robotnik now rules the factories, refineries and cities! He's grabbed control of everything - except the 7 Chaos Emeralds. These magnificent gems are believed to hold exceptional powers. With them, Robotnik could have the entireworld in his grasp. And he'd never let go!

The Chaos Emeralds are buried somewhere on the island. Only one tough dude with spiky hair has the speed to find them first!

Help Sonic stop the devious scheme of the demented scientist! Spin like a speedball through space. Grab Power Sneakers and loop 'til you're dizzy. Twirl over twisting speedways and rocket through tunnels. Balance and blast across a bubbling ocean of oil!

Find the Emeralds, free the animals, and squash Robotnik forever!

In the midst of his ever so carefree adventures, Sonic suddenly came across one island.
It was a small island, with pleasant green meadows spread throughout it.
"Alright, I'm gonna take a short break."

Sonic's beloved plane Tornado slipped into the island's silhouette while drawing white arcs with the exhaust smoke--then, as if it were following him, a suspicious shiny figure faded into the opposite side of the island.

The Legend of the Illusionary West Side Island

In the remote past, the people of this island developed civilizations by using the mysterious stones, and had lived highly prosperous lives.
However, that prosperity had been brought to nothing in a single night by people who tried using the stones in unintended ways, and the mysterious stones are said to have ended up being sealed somewhere in the island by the gods.

One day, only a few days since landing on the island, Sonic noticed that someone is following him from behind.
When he turned around, he was met with a small fox. When the fox was noticed by Sonic, he quickly hid in the shadow of a palm tree. However, when Sonic started running, the fox followed him as hard as he could.
"Oh well, I'll let him do what he wants." Sonic decided, not paying much mind to him.

"Miles Prower" is a small fox. Miles has two tails. That is why the animals of the island call him "Tails."
He was often bullied because of his two tails. But after seeing Sonic, who came to this island, Miles changed. He made up his mind.
"I want to become cool, too!" he said. And after that, Miles began following Sonic around throughout the day.

One early afternoon, Miles found a beautiful airplane on the beach. Miles, who loves machines and vehicles, approached the side of the plane short of breaking into a run.
The wings were depicted with a stylish body and sharp lines. Fascinated by this aircraft, Miles walked to the other side and stopped, startled. Sonic was taking a nap under the wing on the other side.
Then, when Miles gently changed his direction and returned to the other side of the aircraft...

A flash sparkled at the forest.
Followed by a large explosion and rising fire pillars. Pebbles and tree splinters are raining down.
Almost getting blown away, Miles, who tumbled under the airplane, fluttered his eyes, unable to digest the situation. Forests burning in red and robots digging up the ground as if they are looking for something were reflected in his eyes.

Miles stared at the non-stop explosions and flames covering the island, dumbfounded. He felt someone's presence and looked to the side. Sonic was there, scowling at the blazing forest.

"That blasted Eggman...!" As soon as he muttered that, Sonic kicked up the sand and headed into the woods.
Something has happened. Something unthinkable.
Seized with that premonition, Miles unconsciously went running after Sonic...

"Daaaaahahahahah!!"
A coarse, loud and familiar laughter was echoing in the forest. It was him. Doctor Eggman.

"I finally found it. The island where the Chaos Emeralds sleep--the illusionary West Side! Ahh, I'm glad I pursued Sonic. Now I should be able to even complete my ultimate weapon--the Death Egg. I'm waiting for you, Sonic! And this time, this time, I will beat you, and collect the Chaos Emeralds! Then, I will become the world's conqueror!! Daaahahahah!!"

The actors are set. The adventure and excitement will now start once again!
