Sonic the Hedgehog, also known as Sonic the Hedgehog 4, is a pirate game for the SNES by Peruvian scene organization Twin Eagles Group. In actuality, it is a hack of Speedy Gonzales: Los Gatos Bandidos released for that console, leading the belief that it was done by the same pirate team who did Sonic 6. Notable features include Sonic's new-found ability to kick and saving Mario from cages. When Mario is released, he yells out his own name. All the music has been removed from the game, except for four tracks, one of which plays on almost every level.

After four levels, this game locks up completely in some emulators.

  • There are three stages from the original Speedy Gonzales game that were scrapped from the Sonic the Hedgehog hack for unknown reasons. Howver, it is possible for players to access these three stages by hacking and/or loading Speedy Gonzales savestates in a Sonic the Hedgehog ROM.
