Sonic The Hedgehog: The IDW Collection, Vol. 1 is a graphic novel and the first volume of The IDW Collection published by IDW Publishing. It reprints the first twelve issues of the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series, offering a starting point for The IDW Collection's intent of offering the entire IDW Sonic series in chronological order.
The art of Sonic on the cover was done by Evan Stanley[2]. An early version of the front page design was shown by David Mariotte on Twitter[3], showcasing a black and white checkerboard pattern on the left in contrast to the final release's alternating shades of dark blue and black.
