Sonic Team JoyCarry Collection (Japanese: ソニックチームジョイキャリーコレクション) is an application for the Nintendo GameCube featuring downloadable Game Boy Advance multi-boot games.
The term "JoyCarry" refers to the Japanese name for the multi-boot feature of the Game Boy Advance; players are able to temporarily download game data to their Game Boy Advance's RAM either from another Game Boy Advance or a Gamecube running compatible software. Upon the console shutting off, this game data is lost. This feature was typically used for multiplayer functionality or distribution of short game demos at game stores or events.
The JoyCarry Collection application is mostly known for its ability to distribute rare Chao themed after characters.

Versions
Nintendo GameCube Software e-Catalog 2003 (Summer) version
A version of the JoyCarry Collection application is known to be included with the Nintendo GameCube Software e-Catalog 2003 (Summer) (Japanese: ニンテンドーゲムキューブeソフトカタログ2003・夏), a GameCube catalog disc not meant for commercial release featuring demos and release information for at the time recently released or upcoming games. On this disc, the JoyCarry Collection was included alongside a Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut demo. The three downloadable titles from this version of JoyCarry Collection are Puyo Pop, Tiny Chao Garden and ChuChu Rocket!.
Uniquely, this version of Tiny Chao garden generates one of three character-themed Chao called rare Chao (Japanese: レアチャオ) of the player's choice before downloading to a Game Boy Advance. The three options are Tails Chao, Knuckles Chao or Amy Chao; the Tails Chao is notably also obtainable through other means, while the Knuckles and Amy Chao are not. These Chao are only compatible with Japanese versions of Sonic Adventure DX, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, Sonic Advance, Sonic Advance 2 and Sonic Pinball Party.
Upon selecting a rare Chao, a short download screen depicting two Omochao creating the selected Chao via a machine is shown.
The disc was used at game kiosks at real-life stores and events to distribute the three included Game Boy Advance demos. This version of the application lists 2001 in its copyright string, visible only on the Chao downloading screen. The Chao Kindergarten theme from Sonic Adventure 2: Battle plays when navigating the menu screens, while the Chao World lobby theme plays during Chao download.
Other versions
Other versions of the JoyCarry Collection were produced to distribute other types of rare Chao circa 2003, though none of these other versions have resurfaced. It's unknown how many other versions were produced; several photographs of Jisedai World Hobby Fair conventions showing alternate versions of the rare Chao selection screen had been published on Sega's official websites.[1][2]
The other rare Chao available via the other versions of the application appear to have been Tsuyatsuya Sonic Chao, Tsuyatsuya Shadow Chao and Tsuyatsuya Tails Chao.[3][1] Tsuyatsuya (Japanese: つやつや) means "shiny", referring to these Chao variants' unique shiny texture.[4]
The Tsuyatsuya Tails Chao debuted at the 18th World Hobby Fair event in June of 2003.[1] It is unknown when and where the other rare Chao debuted nor precisely how many events had rare Chao download booths.
