Sonic Super Special Magazine 6 was the sixth issue of the Sonic Super Special Magazine published by Archie Comics. The issue mainly focused on the Iron Dominion saga, but was originally planned to focus on stories from both the Return from Angel Island saga and other stories surrounding both the Chaotix and Mammoth Mogul. Official solicitations, in-book previews, and even the original version of the cover had advertised the original plans for the more Sonic and Knuckles themed issue. However, due to the Archie Comics and Ken Penders lawsuit that had recently surfaced, changes were forced, causing the content to shift to the end of the Iron Dominion saga, and the previous Thicker than Water storyline. The only portion of the original plan that seemed to stay in was the advertising for Sonic Universe Graphic Novel Series Volume 4: Journey to the East.
Even after all the effort to change stories, some of the reprinted material had some form of editing done. In two instances, the word "Dark Egg Legion" gets changed to "Eggman's army", and Mobius's name gets replaced with "Sonic's Comic Book Adventures" at the beginning of some stories. Despite this, both the Dark Egg Legion and Mobius are still heavily mentioned. Another change is that the reprint of Sonic the Hedgehog 209 (Archie) is missing a page, namely the one that included Lien-Da. This is likely due to the Pender's lawsuit.
