In Versions 2.0 to 2.1.25 of Sonic Robo Blast 2, this game received an incomplete remake with almost all of the levels available (excluding Space Chase Zone, Lift Zone and the final boss), utilising the game's 2D level feature. As of Version 2.2 of the game, this remake is no longer present in the game. However, in the future, it may be released separately as a downloadable add-on.

Sonic Robo Blast is an early Sonic fan game from 1998 and the created by Sonikku, real name Johnathan Wallbank, of Sonic Team Junior. The sequel, Sonic Robo Blast 2, was very similar to this game before the move to 3D. Despite the lack of scrolling, it was considered a very good fan game due to its long length and secrets.
