The Sonic Retro Info Wiki was founded on September 14, 2004 as the SSonicNET Database. After a short while, it became SHIT, which stands for Sonic the Hedgehog Information Treasury. Following the merge into Sonic Retro, it became the Info Wiki. It attempts to form a complete knowledge base for everything to do with Sonic the Hedgehog. It uses a Wiki system to update itself, meaning any user can edit almost any article at any time. This system has its own specialized shorthand tags to make common tasks (such as linking to another page within the Wiki) easy to do.
