Glitches specific to Green Hill Zone in Sonic Mania and Sonic Mania Plus.

Act 1

Knuckles in Sonic/Tails' Act 1

Knuckles starts Act 1 on a different route than other characters. However, with a well-timed bounce from gliding on the first Crabmeat, the player can grab the wall above a pair of spikes and climb up to where other characters would begin Act 1, albeit with the cave background.

Fixed in v1.03/RC 1.03.0829. A ceiling was added to stop Knuckles from climbing up.

Act 2

Boundary oversight

In the initial release of the Nintendo Switch version, the lower level boundary was not properly set after emerging from underground at the start of Act 2. This results in the bed of spikes to the left appearing to be suspended in the air.

Fixed in v1.03.

Exploring the top of the Act in a cavern.

If, in Act 2, the player takes the path accessible by burning the first spiky bridge with a Fire Shield and then uses either Tails' Propeller Flight, Knuckles' Glide or Ray's Air Glide when the game changes the background to the cavern, they can explore areas above ground with the cavern background. This lasts until the player dies, restarts, enters a Special or Bonus Stage, or reaches a point where the game calls the regular background.

Not fixed in any version.
