- Back to: Sonic Jam.
The copyright string is changed to use lowercase letters for Western versions, and "All rights reserved." is appended to it.
Sonic Jam uses localised artwork and cartridge designs for its "game select" screen (although there aren't any PAL manuals to view).
For the individual games, the Japanese version of Sonic Jam treats them as if they're running on a Japanese Mega Drive, for example, dropping the ™ symbols or replacing "Tails" with "Miles".
Text was changed for the menu in the Movie Theater. Sonic the Hedgehog CD is shortened to Sonic CD (in-line with overseas marketing), "Sonic CG Image" is marked as "unpublished" and CF is renamed "commercials".
... and the commercials sub-menu. Names were localised and a note was added explaining that Sonic Drift was only sold in Japan.
The "Eggman" option on the left hand side of the Character House was localised to "Dr. Robotnik" (with "enemy" becoming "badniks"). No attempt was made to change the background image though.
Information in the Character House was translated from Japanese to English. Eggman.
Tails (or Miles, as the menu was not localised).
Every page of the Hall of Fame was adjusted in some way, either by translating the Japanese into English, adjusting some of the layouts, or changing punctuation.
