Sonic Chronicles POW Moves are special attacks which can be employed in combat by the various characters during Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. Funded by a limited supply of PP Points, POW Moves typically do more damage than a regular attack, and may confer disadvantageous status effects on opponents (or advantageous ones on allies). Moves start off with limited power at Level I, but as characters gain XP, the moves can be upgraded to Level II and finally Level III.
Several of these moves are Combo Attacks, requiring the participation (and additional PP Point expense) of a second (and sometimes third, or even fourth!) character. Executing the moves requires the player to tap the screen in a specified manner with the DS stylus. Failure to manipulate the stylus in the specified manner may result in a move dealing lower damage, or even failing entirely (particularly with Cream and Tails' techniques). One of the game's equippable chao, Ferox, enables POW moves to be performed without stylus manipulation.
