The Sonic Boom (ソニックブーム) is a move performed by Sonic the Hedgehog in Sonic Frontiers. It is an offensive move for use in combat.

Overview

The Sonic Boom can be unlocked in the game's Skill menu for five Skill Points after unlocking the Phantom Rush. When unlocked, the player can then press (PS4/PS5)/ (XB1)/ (Switch) in the middle of a jump to make Sonic rapidly swing his foot in circles in the air, generating a barrage of shockwaves that will hit the nearest enemy multiple times for repeated damage. Because of its rapid attacks, this move synergises well with the Phantom Rush as it can very quickly build up combos.

Sonic will gradually lose height while continually using the move, and will stop once he reaches the ground. He will also stop attacking if the player lets go of the button, or interacts with an object.
