Sonic 2: Aluminum Edition is a hack of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis by Dr. Eggfan. It doesn't feature any ASM content nor new layouts, it's merely a rearranged version of Sonic 2 with several tweakings here and there.

- New sprites for both Sonic and Tails
- New zone names
- Rearranged zone order
- New palettes for all the zones
- Rearranged music playlist
- Partially restored (yet unplayable) Hidden Palace Zone
