The following list has been marked as incomplete. If you can, please complete it.
TODO: Discoveries documented by Suddenデス.
Early title screen graphics for Sonic, Ray and Mighty. The early Sonic sprite was used in the prototype, but Ray and Mighty were never seen outside of graphic data.
Early character select graphics for Sonic and Ray. Sonic's face was later redrawn, and Ray's patagia were emphasised. Mighty's early graphics are identical to the final, so are not shown here.
Early versions of the trio's sprites when running away in the intro sequence. Mighty is the only character to have an early "panicked" sprite, which shows a different expression.
Animations of the trio flexing, becoming muscular in the process. Code to display these animations in-game still exists, but doesn't appear to be used anywhere.
Dr. Eggman appearing via hologram.
Eggman using a remote control.
Messages prompting the player(s) to insert more coins. These never appear no matter what the DIP switch settings are.
Entries for a debug menu, possibly for a level or graphic editor.
Sprites of the Robotnik design used in the North American Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon series and Archie comic series can be found in the game. It's possible that these sprites were meant to be used when shipping SegaSonic the Hedgehog overseas.
Animations intended for stage transitions. In MAME's background tile viewer, the static pose can be found in address ranges 700-720.
Sprites intended for when Robotnik talks and activates traps during stages.
Sprites intended for the countdown cutscene in Eggman's Tower.
Sprites for the ending credits, including name. The credits mugshot can be found in address ranges 3E40-3E60 in MAME'S tile viewer.
Sprite intended for stage numbers, characterised by Robotnik's cone-shaped head.
Game Over message.
A complete set of English dialogue bubbles. There is also an "Eggman" variant.
