The following is a list of the animation files found within the various MTN animation packages of Sonic Adventure 2. Note that some animation packages change depending on the version of the game. Some are simple ID rearrangements, while others significantly edit the animations. For identical animations with different ID's, the Dreamcast's will go first, followed by SA2B.

Common Animations

These animations are found in PLCOMMTN.PRS and apply to various characters in the game. Sonic, Shadow, Knuckles, Rouge, their multiplayer counterparts and Tails utilize some of, if not all of the animations stored in this package.

Multiplayer Character Animations

In the Dreamcast version of Sonic Adventure 2, the unlockable multiplayer characters generally use the same animation ID's as their main game counterparts. SA2B changes this so that the characters can function properly when playing against their counterparts, as ID conflicts would result in Player 1's character animations being applied for both characters that share the same animation ID's. Animation Transition IDs

Each character's animation list denotes a property for each of their animations, which determines how they're supposed to play in-game. Below are the possible values that the game can recognize, as well as what they do. Any value above 13 will crash the game if the affected animation is called.

Stage Animations

Each stage has unique animations for specific SET objects, such as Dry Lagoon's turtle. The game has duplicates of some animations, like pole swinging, and boards, as these are used in several stages, like City Escape, Radical Highway, Metal Harbour and Pyramid Cave. You can find these animations using ProjectManager in SA Tools' "tools" folder, and splitting the game. These will be in Sonic Adventure 2>Projects>[Project name]>Levels>[Level Name]>Character Animations.
