Researcher is a new (created in April of 2012) user-rank awarded to certain members of Sonic Retro’s forum, based upon their high level of activity in researching topics related to Sonic the Hedgehog or to Sega in a more general sense, the latter befitting Sonic Retro’s sister site Sega Retro.
The majority of the users currently within the Researcher group are also – or, in a strict sense, previously were – Oldbies, with the exception of evilhamwizard and hxc, who were Members.
