Planet Wisp is the ninth and final stage in the console and PC versions of Sonic Generations, and the third stage representing the "Modern Era". It is an adaptation of Planet Wisp from Sonic Colours.

Story

After freeing this world, the Chaos Emerald that was frozen in this section becomes obtainable. Classic Sonic goes to grab it but is cut short by Modern Sonic Boosting right to it. This surprises Classic, who thought that was awesome. Along with this, Charmy Bee is freed from the white void.

Overview

This stage features the Wisps' homeworld and the unfinished planet from Dr. Eggman's Amazing Interstellar Amusement Park, bringing along its thrilling heights and platforming challenges. Unlike its previous version, this adaptation includes more of the planet's landscape alongside the familiar metal structures. Additionally, it introduces many more hazards, such as various buzzsaws that Eggman is using to construct this massive planet.

This stage retains some of the Color Powers seen in the Wii version of Sonic Colours, and each Sonic gets one Color Power, which they must use to get through their respective Act. Modern Sonic gets the Orange Rocket Color Power to achieve new heights in the structure, with the addition of Rocket-only breakable ceilings. His Act also adds various mine carts traveling around carrying supplies and workers for the structure, which he can control upon landing on them, and can make them go faster by using the Boost. Classic Sonic gets the Pink Spikes Color Power to climb up various walls and ceilings. He must also use this Color Power to stick to various wheels and spin them to unlock various changes in the structure to help him proceed.

Enemies

  • Sandworm - These Badniks come out of blue hatches on the ground, walls and ceilings and shoot balls of energy at Sonic.
  • Egg Pawn - These are Eggman's construction crew here. They may swing their pickaxes on Sonic at point blank or throw them forwards like a boomerang.
