Ouranos Island is the fifth and final island in Sonic Frontiers, and one of the Starfall Islands. It is also the main setting of "Another Story" in The Final Horizon Update, presenting a significant number of differences compared to its original base game counterpart.

Overview

Ouranos Island is similar in appearance to both Kronos Island and Rhea Island. It is a grassy plain with several ancient ruins scattered across it, although it is notably missing the structures built by Dr. Eggman. While it is smaller than previous islands, it still contains many places for Sonic to explore, and in fact has the most Cyber Space Portals out of any of the islands. Landmarks of note are the gigantic pyramid structure in the middle, the bridge that connects to another, smaller island, and the large forest that houses the fight with the final Titan, Supreme.

Name origin

Ouranos Island is named after Ouranos, also known as Uranus. In Greek mythology, he was the god of the sky, and with the Earth goddess Gaia, he fathered the twelve titans. However, he hated his children, and hid them somewhere within Gaia. Because of this, he was overthrown by his youngest son, Kronos, who then became ruler of the cosmos until he too was overthrown by his children.
