Mirage Saloon Zone is a brand new zone in Sonic Mania, and the eighth zone in the game. This level is based on the scrapped level Desert Dazzle from the 2011 remake of Sonic CD.

This zone is based on the American deserts of the old west, presenting to the bottom mountains and other rock formations. The place also presents a cactus vegetation with varied forms.

While its inner part boils down to structures based on the wild west saloon bars, with swivel stools and piano keys. In addition to presenting areas with reminescent of the stages of casino, with the predominance of bumpers and pinball flippers. To the bottom of the interior parts you can see posters with the inscription "Wanted" of characters considered forgotten of the franchise, similar to what happens in City Escape of Sonic Generations.

Returning to its exterior, one has the presence of a new gimmick, a revolver, that depending on the aim of the player, it throws to certain distances. In addition, another gimmicks present is that of seltz that when casting water bubbles, create a new temporary path.

Act 1 is very different depending on your character. When playing as Sonic or Tails, the entire Act is styled like Sky Chase Zone in that the player is standing on the Tornado in an auto-scroller, surviving an onslaught of badniks summoned by the Heavy Magician and eventually boarding Eggman's freight train briefly before taking to the sky again. Knuckles, due to being knocked off the Tornado by the Heavy Magician, plays through a completely different Act 1 set in the canyons of the desert that make use of his abilities.
