Mecha Knuckles is the roboticized form of Knuckles in the Archie comic series. He was created by order of Sally Acorn, enacting "Operation Last Resort", in order to combat Mecha Sonic in Sonic & Knuckles: Mecha Madness.

Knuckles accepted the task of defeating Mecha Sonic, entering a portable roboticizer kept by Rotor and transforming into Mecha Knuckles. Using a neuro-overrider, Knuckles was able to keep his conscious state. His new robotic form was able to keep him on par with Mecha Sonic's strength.

His robotic body included magnetic knucklaws that could disperse and energy attack, while draining the target of energy, rocket-powered feet, and the ability to inverse the polarity in his claws to release a strong magnetic field. He used both of these tactics on Mecha Sonic. The last ability was used by Knuckles to attract Mecha Sonic to himself while he was falling into Robotropolis, into a stockpile of nuclear warheads.

Mecha Knuckles' body, unlike Mecha Sonic's, was made using an old roboticizer, and not of foreign parts like that of Mecha Sonic's. He was able to survive the explosion of the nuclear stockpile due to this, and due to Mecha Sonic take the brunt of the blast. Upon returning Mecha Sonic to the Freedom Fighters, he was sent through the roboticizer and returned back to normal.
